The most important thing is to create a script that is engaging, informative and helps learners to achieve the module objectives.
1. Introduction to module
Introduction
- Welcome students to the course.
- Give a brief introduction of who you are.
- Hook the learners in! Give them a broad sense of what this course is going to cover.
- Highlight the benefits of completing the course.
- State the specific objectives for the module.
- Then highlight week by week what you are going to cover. Tease out the most exciting parts.
Key concepts
- Identify the key concepts that learners will need to understand in order to succeed in the course.
- Provide clear and concise definitions of these concepts.
- Use examples and illustrations to help learners understand the concept
Activities
- Explain the key activities that the learners will experience in the module.
- Include activities that allow learners to practice and apply what they have learned.
Assessment
- Explain how learners will be assessed for this module (e.g. quiz, short essay, or other type of activity).
- Explain how will they receive feedback for this module.
- Summarise the key points.
- Finish by highlighting what will be coming up in their first lecture.
