Depending on the kind of lecture videos you want to make, you may need to create some slides.

Slides can be included in your video to highlight key information; they might feature images, diagrams or keywords, for example. 

Text on your slides

Avoid lots of text on your slides. Text on screen might include:

  • section titles
  • keywords
  • equations
  • short quotations.

Key points for writing your slides:

  • Use the programme PowerPoint templates provided by the studio team. Follow the instructions in the template.
  • Make sure to mark in your scripts where your accompanying slides go.
  • Always include a citation for the originals of copyrighted images, graphs or charts. Ideally use your own words and images. We can advise on reproduction or redrawing. 
  • If you use materials that are not your own, you must include citations as we will need to check permissions and add a full attribution.
  • Be mindful of the copyright and accessibility guidance.

Slides for a 10 minute video 

  • Max 15 slides per slide deck (excluding any extra slides needed for transitions)
  • Max 5 diagrams for re-drawing
  • Alt text included for any images
